Moderation

Ban, unban, kick and mute commands, limited to members with the matching permission.

Made by KiteModeration4 commands

How it works

The template adds four slash commands: /ban, /unban, /kick and /mute. Each one takes the user and an optional reason, which shows up in your server's audit log. /mute also takes a number of seconds and uses Discord's timeout, so the member can't send messages or join voice channels until it runs out.

Discord only shows each command to members with the matching permission: Ban Members for /ban and /unban, Kick Members for /kick and Timeout Members for /mute. The bot confirms each action in a reply only the moderator sees, and /ban also deletes the user's messages from the last hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use the moderation commands?

Only members with the matching permission, like Ban Members for /ban. You can change who sees each command per role or channel under Integrations in your server settings.

How long can I mute someone for?

Up to 28 days, which is 2,419,200 seconds. That's the longest timeout Discord allows.

What permissions does the bot need?

Ban Members, Kick Members and Timeout Members. Keep the bot's role above the roles of the members it moderates, since that's how Discord decides who a bot can act on.

Can I change the replies or log actions to a channel?

Yes. Once added, the commands are normal Kite commands. Open one in the editor to change its reply, or add a Send message block that posts each action to a log channel.
